Alfa Romeo 147 windscreen price, by year

Price variation across the 147 depends mainly on trim level and the presence of optional features. Models with rain sensors carry a higher replacement cost than base variants, as the sensor mechanism must be transferred or recalibrated. All 147 windscreens include green tinting and solar-control glass as standard, so feature differences are minimal across the range.

Went 'over and above'

Fitter arrived on time - I'd helped out by already stripping the door out which saved time - he also went 'above and beyond', the slider clip for the glass broke whilst he was fitting the new one due to 'old age' (the plastic had hardened up), so he went all the way to Liverpool to pick up a replacement and didn't charge a penny for it as, despite the fact the clip failed due to age not his carelessness, he said it was 'his fault'. Respect!!

Had to replace the windscreen on our 18 year old car

Had to replace the windscreen on our 18 year old car because it had become dangerous due to thousands of micro chips. The low winter sun made it impossible to see out of. Searching online found UK Car Glass. The price was reasonable and I made an online booking for 2 days later. Unfortunately due to storms a nice lady from the company phoned me and asked if we could postpone fitting for 2 days till the weather cleared which was no problem. The fitter turned up as promised and the job was done within half an hour. Overall a good experience. UK Car Glass appear to be a nationwide company who sub contract to existing windscreen fitting companies. In view of this it may be worthwhile directly contacting a local firm first to check their pricing as it's possible they may be a bit cheaper because their won't be a middleman. However, I've no complaints. Ease of booking, communication etc is excellent.

More professional than autoglass

Polite, prompt and efficient. Contacted Uk Car Glass and autoglass for quotes, autoglass were suppose to call with in a window and they didn’t, by the time they contacted me the job had been done.

Very happy with UK car glass

Very happy with UK car glass. They offered the lowest quote and an online booking service. After an initial confirmation email, I heard nothing further for a week, so I called to check that my car was still booked in for a new windscreen. I was informed that it was and they would be in touch to confirm the ETA. The team kept me informed over the weekend, the technician called and updated me again on the day, and arrived when he said he would. The screen was changed efficiently and the technician was polite and helpful. I would use the company again and recommend UK car glass to others.

Very pleased with UK Glass

I checked on line for a windscreen company and found UK Glass. From the booking on line to the job being completed all went well. After booking I had a phone call to confirm all the details. A day and date were given for the replacement at my home, Two very competent and friendly windscreen fitters arrived on time and completed the job to complete satisfaction.

What to expect during your Alfa Romeo 147 windscreen replacement

Booking a 147 windscreen replacement takes just a few straightforward steps from quote to fitting.

  1. 1

Start with a quick online quote using our widget — you'll answer a few questions about your 147's trim and features, and receive an instant price.

  2. 2

Proceed to checkout to secure your booking. You'll choose your preferred appointment date and location (mobile visit to your address or a workshop near you).

  3. 3

Our team performs a parts check after you've booked, confirming the exact glass variant needed and flagging any trim-specific details.

  4. 4

You'll be matched with an approved fitter in your area, who will contact you to arrange the day and time.

  5. 5

On fitting day, the technician arrives with your matched glass, removes the old windscreen, and instals the new one. The job typically takes 45–90 minutes of their time, depending on your vehicle.

  6. 6

Your fitter will confirm the minimum drive-away time before leaving, derived from the adhesive used and weather conditions on the day.

Your replacement windscreen comes with a two-year warranty covering workmanship and glass quality.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your 147?

The 147 predates modern ADAS camera systems, so windscreen replacement requires no recalibration or specialist equipment. Mobile fitting at your address is available across the UK for all variants.

Choose a workshop visit only if you prefer to drop the car off, or if weather conditions on the day make a mobile appointment impractical. Either way, booking is managed through the same online flow.

We confirm the specific answer for your vehicle when you book.

What features does your 147 have?

About the Alfa Romeo 147

The Alfa Romeo 147 was produced from 2000 to 2010, establishing itself as a compact, stylish hatchback across a single generation. All 147 windscreens carry a green tint and solar-control coating as standard, designed to reduce heat and glare whilst maintaining visibility.

Some higher-trim variants also feature a rain sensor, which automatically activates the wipers when moisture is detected on the glass. The vast majority of 147s fitted across the market predate modern ADAS camera systems — windscreen replacement is straightforward and typically requires no recalibration.

Frequently asked questions

The questions customers ask us most often.

You don't need to know. Our online widget asks a few quick questions — make, model, year, and a couple of feature details — to narrow the variant down. Once booked, our parts check team verifies the exact specification against your VIN before the job is dispatched.

Almost always, yes, where a forward-facing camera is fitted. The technicians in our network include ADAS-calibration-certified specialists — we confirm whether your job needs a workshop or can complete on your driveway when we book.

Your replacement glass matches your original factory specification — same size, features and trim fitment as the glass the car left the factory with. It's UK-approved for the road and typically supplied by tier-1 manufacturers like Pilkington, Saint-Gobain, and AGC.

OEM-branded glass (with the vehicle-maker logo) is available on request at a higher price.

Most windscreen replacements happen at your chosen location — home, office, or car park. Some jobs are better suited to a workshop — for example, windscreens with ADAS cameras needing static calibration, or where access to power, shelter, or controlled conditions makes the work safer indoors. We let you know when we confirm your booking.

Most windscreen replacements take 45–90 minutes of the technician's time. ADAS calibration extends the technician's time on the job, but cure time runs in parallel — so it doesn't usually delay when you can drive. Your technician will confirm exact timings on the day.

Most UK comprehensive policies include glass cover, typically with an excess of £75–£100. If your insurer is on our approved list, the specialist you're matched with bills them directly and you just pay the excess.

Otherwise you can pay UK Car Glass directly and claim back from your insurer — our all-inclusive price is often lower than the excess anyway, so paying direct can work out cheaper.

Two years on workmanship defects — water leaks, wind noise, bonding failures — from the date of replacement. If the specialist's work isn't right, we arrange to put it right under the warranty process.

No. The Alfa Romeo 147 (2000–2010) does not have windscreen-mounted cameras or driver-assistance systems. Windscreen replacement is a straightforward job with no recalibration required.

Yes, if your 147 originally came fitted with a rain sensor, the replacement windscreen will include it and the sensor mechanism will be transferred by your fitter. If your model didn't have one from the factory, a retrofit isn't offered — only factory-matched glass is supplied.

Yes. Your replacement glass is matched to your factory specification, including the green tint and solar-control layer. The colour and performance will be consistent with what came on your 147 originally.

The rain sensor module itself is typically removed from the old windscreen and transferred to the new one by your fitter. This keeps costs down and ensures the system functions as it did before. If the sensor is damaged during removal, your fitter will advise and arrange a replacement module.
