Alfa Romeo 146 windscreen price, by year

Pricing variation on the 146 is modest because the model range is straightforward — what matters most is whether your variant carries the blue sun strip, since the replacement glass must match that specification. Replacement glass is readily available from aftermarket suppliers.

Year Price range Quote
2000 £276 £276 Price my 2000
1999 £276 £276 Price my 1999
1998 £276 £276 Price my 1998
1997 £276 £276 Price my 1997
1996 £276 £276 Price my 1996
1995 £276 £276 Price my 1995

The displayed range is an indicator — the final price is produced by the quote form after you confirm your variant. Older 146s can still be booked.

5 stars from start to finish

I received an instant quote from UK Car Glass, £200 cheaper than a competitor for a full windscreen replacement. Booked it, technician arrived when he said he would, communication throughout was outstanding and the work done was top notch. I couldn't fault the service I received, 5 stars.

What to expect during your Alfa Romeo 146 windscreen replacement

Booking your Alfa Romeo 146 windscreen replacement takes just minutes online.

  1. 1

Complete a quick online quote through our widget — we'll identify your exact variant (with or without the blue sun strip) based on your answers about the model year and features.

  2. 2

Review the instant quote and book your appointment at a time that suits you — mobile fitting at your address is the default, or workshop if you prefer.

  3. 3

Our parts check team confirms the glass matches your factory specification before your technician is matched and scheduled.

  4. 4

Your technician arrives with the correct replacement glass, removes the damaged windscreen, fits the new one, and clears the area.

  5. 5

Your fitter will confirm the drive-away time before leaving — typically you're ready to drive within a few hours as the adhesive bonds.

  6. 6

You're covered by a two-year warranty on workmanship and glass quality, backed by our network of approved fitters.

From quote to booking to fitting day, the whole process is designed to be simple and stress-free.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your 146?

The 146 is pre-ADAS, so windscreen replacement is a straightforward mobile fit at your address in most cases. No calibration work is required after the glass is set, which keeps the job simple and quick.

  • Green1
    1995–2000

Green tint reduces glare and improves visual comfort by filtering certain light wavelengths.

    What it means

Green tint is a light-filtering coating applied to the glass during manufacture. It absorbs and reduces transmission of certain wavelengths of light, primarily to cut glare from sunlight and reflections. The tint is subtle — often barely visible to the naked eye — but measurably improves visual comfort during prolonged driving, particularly in bright conditions. It's a factory specification chosen by the vehicle manufacturer to balance daylight comfort with interior visibility and aesthetic consistency across all glass in the vehicle.

    How to tell

The easiest way to check is to roll your side window halfway down and hold a piece of white paper behind it. Look carefully for a tint cast — green tint will appear as a subtle green hue compared to clear glass. Your windscreen will have the same tint as your side windows. You can also ask your vehicle's dealership or service centre — they'll have the original specification on file.

    Replacement impact

Green-tinted replacement glass must match the original tint specification to maintain visual consistency across all windows and preserve the vehicle's interior aesthetics. Aftermarket OE-equivalent (OEE) green-tinted glass is widely available, though some vehicles may require original equipment (OEM) dealership glass if the tint specification is proprietary. Tint does not affect calibration, cure time, or installation procedure — it's a cosmetic and functional specification only.

About the Alfa Romeo 146

The Alfa Romeo 146 was produced from 1994 to 2001 as a compact saloon, offering a straightforward ownership experience with laminated windscreen glass as standard across all years.

All variants in our catalogue feature a green-tinted windscreen — a subtle tint hard to spot unless you look carefully — and approximately half of the active variants also carry a blue sun strip, a gradient band across the top of the glass that reduces glare from above without affecting your main field of view.

Since this model predates the ADAS era, windscreen replacement is a straightforward fit with no calibration work required after the glass is set.
