The Audi A3 has been in continuous production since 1996, evolving through five generations. Early models carried straightforward toughened rear glass, while later generations introduced antenna integration for radio and sat-nav reception, along with optional green-tinted variants on certain trims.
From the mid-2010s onwards, many A3 variants gained additional smart glass features — antenna systems became standard on higher specs, and some models incorporated GPS or alarm-circuit integration. Current-generation A3s (2020 onwards) across the range carry these integrated antennas as part of their infotainment wiring architecture.
Rear-window replacement accounts for these features; the glass you receive matches your car's original specification, including any antenna, tinting, or trim encapsulation.
