Alfa Romeo 147 rear window price, by year

Variation in replacement costs for the 147 is primarily driven by the integrated brake-light circuit and solar-control coating, both of which require matched glass specifications. Earlier 2000–2002 models and later 2003–2004 models are typically similar in parts availability, though sourcing may affect lead times.

Year Price range Quote
2004 £272 — £272 Price my 2004
2003 £272 — £272 Price my 2003

2001 £272 — £272 Price my 2001
2000 £272 — £272 Price my 2000

The displayed range is an indicator — the final price is produced by the quote form after you confirm your variant. Older 147s can still be booked.

Went 'over and above'

Fitter arrived on time - I'd helped out by already stripping the door out which saved time - he also went 'above and beyond', the slider clip for the glass broke whilst he was fitting the new one due to 'old age' (the plastic had hardened up), so he went all the way to Liverpool to pick up a replacement and didn't charge a penny for it as, despite the fact the clip failed due to age not his carelessness, he said it was 'his fault'. Respect!!

What to expect during your Alfa Romeo 147 rear window replacement

Booking your Alfa Romeo 147 rear window replacement takes just a few straightforward steps.

  1. 1

Answer a short online quiz about your 147 — year, body style, and any visible features — to identify the exact variant.

  2. 2

Receive an instant quote tailored to your glass specification, including the solar-control and brake-light elements.

  3. 3

Choose a fitting time that suits you — mobile at your address or a local workshop, depending on your preference.

  4. 4

Your matched technician completes the replacement, typically in 30–60 minutes, removing the shattered original glass and fitting the new panel.

  5. 5

A shattered rear window means shard cleanup is part of the job; your fitter will clear what's accessible, though we recommend a professional valet afterwards for thorough interior detailing.

  6. 6

Your new glass is covered by a two-year warranty against defects and workmanship issues.

From quote to completion, the process is designed to be simple — book online and let our network of local technicians handle the rest.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your 147?

The Alfa Romeo 147 (2000–2004) does not feature camera-based driver-assistance systems, so rear window replacement is straightforward and does not require ADAS calibration. Mobile fitting at your address is the default option — your technician will arrange a convenient time and complete the job on your driveway or at a location of your choice.

Workshop fitting is available if you prefer a controlled environment, particularly if weather conditions are poor or if you'd like the vehicle left with the technician for other work.

We confirm the specific answer for your vehicle when you book.

What features does your 147 have?

Tap a feature to see what it is, how to spot it on your car, and how it affects glass replacement. We confirm the exact match for your vehicle when you book.

  • Brake Light1
    2000–2004

On the Alfa Romeo 147: fitted on every one of the 1 rear window variant we list; model years 2000–2004.

    What it means

A high-level brake light integrated into the rear window; the replacement glass must carry the same pattern to reconnect the original lighting circuit.

    On your Alfa Romeo 147

Standard across all 147 variants produced 2000–2004; confirmed during the parts check.

  • Green1
    2000–2004

On the Alfa Romeo 147: fitted on every one of the 1 rear window variant we list; model years 2000–2004.

    What it means

A subtle green tint applied to the glass, consistent with Alfa Romeo's design language and factory specification.

    On your Alfa Romeo 147

All 147 rear windows carry this tint; confirmed during the quote.

  • Heated Rear Windscreen1
    2000–2004

On the Alfa Romeo 147: fitted on every one of the 1 rear window variant we list; model years 2000–2004.

Heated rear windscreen with integrated wires clears mist and ice when you switch on the demister.

    What it means

A heated rear windscreen contains fine heating wires embedded within the glass. When you activate the rear demister, an electrical current passes through these wires, warming the glass and melting ice or condensation. This feature is particularly useful in cold or damp weather, improving rear visibility quickly. The heating grid is integral to the glass and connected to your vehicle's electrical circuit via connectors at the base of the windscreen.

    How to tell

Look at the rear windscreen from inside the vehicle — you will see a fine grid of horizontal lines across the glass, typically bronze or copper in colour. On the dashboard or steering wheel stalk, there will be a dedicated rear-demist button, usually marked with a windscreen symbol and heating lines. If in doubt, ask your vehicle's service centre or consult your handbook.

    Replacement impact

Replacement rear windscreens with heated grids are widely available as original-equipment aftermarket or dealership parts. The new glass must include the factory heating grid and electrical connectors intact. The technician will reconnect the heating circuit to your vehicle's rear-demist switch. Heated rear windscreens are bonded glass, so adhesive cure time applies; drive-away time will be confirmed by the fitter on the day.

  • Solar Control1
    2000–2004

On the Alfa Romeo 147: fitted on every one of the 1 rear window variant we list; model years 2000–2004.

    What it means

A solar-control coating on the glass that absorbs the sun's infrared rays, helping reduce cabin heat.

    On your Alfa Romeo 147

Standard feature on all 147 rear windows; your replacement will include the same specification.

About the Alfa Romeo 147

The Alfa Romeo 147 was produced from 2000 to 2004 as a compact hatchback, delivering Italian styling in a practical three- or five-door format. Its rear window is a toughened glass panel that sits at the back of the cabin, integral to the vehicle's structural rigidity and rear visibility.

The 147's rear glass incorporates a green-tinted finish — a subtle but consistent feature across the production run — along with solar-control coating to reduce cabin heat. A high-level brake light is integrated into the rear window itself, so your replacement glass must carry the same integrated pattern to reconnect the original lighting circuit cleanly.
