Booking on line took order and confirmed the window screen replacement for this Tuesday, arranged to travel and take time from work only to get an email today to say can not be done until next week. Terrible service (or lack of service)

Misleading pricing practice

I submitted the details of my vehicle including license plate (from which they can get the VIN) and was given a quote for a replacement windscreen with calibration and home installation. It was a good price compared to competitors and the technician would have been able to repair at home. I accepted the quote and made payment for £889.11, and waited for the confirmation of date and time of installment. 18 hours later I received a call saying that a technician would be able to come out tomorrow to install, however the price quoted was incorrect and in fact it would be £200 more expensive as they got the windscreen part number wrong. Very annoying and potentially misleading pricing practice. I told them to recredit my card and that I would look elsewhere

  2. 2

Complete your booking online in under two minutes. We'll match you with an approved fitter in your area who stocks the correct blue-tint windscreen with sun strip.

  3. 3

Our parts-check team verifies your glass specification before your fitter's appointment to ensure the sun-strip variant is confirmed.

  4. 4

Your fitter arrives mobile at your address or at a workshop — your choice. Windscreen fitting typically takes 45 to 90 minutes of active work, depending on the vehicle.

  5. 5

Calibration is not required on 1990–1995 models. Your fitter will confirm the minimum drive-away time before leaving, based on the adhesive used.

  6. 6

You're covered by a two-year warranty on workmanship and glass quality. Any concerns are handled through UKCG with full documentation from your original fitting.

From quote to road-ready — all arranged through UK Car Glass and delivered by specialists in your area.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your 300zx?

The 1990–1995 300ZX does not carry any forward-facing windscreen camera or ADAS system, so calibration is not required. Your fitter can fit the windscreen at your home or at a workshop — whichever suits you. Mobile fitting at your address is the default option and is perfectly suitable for this model.

  • Blue1
    1990–1995

Blue-tinted windscreens reduce glare and heat while maintaining a subtle, modern appearance.

    What it means

A blue tint is a light coloration applied to the windscreen glass, usually during manufacture. It reduces solar heat transmission and glare from sunlight, particularly on bright days or when driving into the sun. The tint is integral to the glass itself — not a separate film — and is chosen by the vehicle manufacturer to balance comfort, visibility, and aesthetic consistency with the vehicle's side windows and rear window. Most vehicles come with a green or blue tint as standard; the choice depends on the manufacturer's design and regional climate considerations.

    How to tell

Check your side windows by rolling one halfway down and holding a white piece of paper behind the glass. If you see a blue tint reflected in the glass, your windscreen will have the same tint. You can also ask your vehicle's dealership or service centre to confirm the windscreen tint specification. The tint is visible when comparing the windscreen to clear glass, though it may be subtle and harder to spot on overcast days.

    Replacement impact

Blue-tinted replacement windscreens must match the original tint to maintain visual consistency with your side and rear windows. Most replacement glass is available in the correct tint through OE (original equipment) suppliers. There is no calibration requirement related to tint. The tint does not affect fitting time, cure time, or drive-away schedules. Ensure the replacement windscreen is specified with the blue tint to avoid a mismatched appearance.

  • Blue Sun Strip1
    1990–1995

A blue-tinted gradient band across the top of your windscreen that reduces glare without affecting your view of the road.

    What it means

A blue sun strip is a tinted gradient band built into the upper edge of your windscreen's laminate layer. It reduces glare from sunlight reflecting off the road and bonnet without darkening your main field of vision. The tint is created during manufacture as part of the glass laminate itself — it cannot be added or removed later. Sun strips are a windscreen-only feature; rear and side windows cannot carry this effect because they use tempered rather than laminated glass.

    How to tell

Look at the top of your windscreen from inside the car — you'll see a distinct blue-tinted band running horizontally across the upper portion. Check your vehicle's specification sheet or ask your dealership service centre whether your windscreen is listed as a 'blue sun strip' or 'tinted sun strip' variant. Your invoice or parts manual will confirm it.

    Replacement impact

When replacing a windscreen with a blue sun strip, the replacement must be the sun-strip variant — a standard plain windscreen will not replicate the tinted band. Your replacement glass is sourced as an exact match to your original specification. There are no additional calibration or cure implications beyond a standard windscreen replacement. Fitting and drive-away times remain unchanged.

About the Nissan 300zx

The Nissan 300ZX was produced from 1990 to 1995 as a high-performance sports car, representing a distinctive era of Japanese engineering. All models in our catalogue feature a blue-tinted windscreen with a blue sun strip — a gradient band across the top that reduces glare from above without affecting your main driving view.

These windscreens are laminated safety glass with the sun-strip effect built into the PVB interlayer. Replacement glass must match this factory specification exactly, including the gradient tint and sun-strip band — a plain windscreen will not replicate the effect.
