Mini Cooper windscreen price, by year

Price variation depends on your Cooper's generation and ADAS equipment. Earlier models without camera systems are typically the most affordable to replace. Variants fitted with the Active Driving Assistant package carry higher calibration costs after the new glass is fitted, as the windscreen-mounted camera must be recalibrated to factory tolerances.

Quick efficient service competitive pricing

The technician was fast, efficient, polite, professional and personable. A great experience. The glass was sourced quickly. I had actually originally booked with Autoglass and they could not source the glass and been waiting 2 weeks before uk car glass took on the job and had the whole thing completed in a matter of days and at a much better price. The communication was also excellent and I was kept informed at every stage. This was in the North West Leicestershire area

Very happy with UK car glass

Very happy with UK car glass. They offered the lowest quote and an online booking service. After an initial confirmation email, I heard nothing further for a week, so I called to check that my car was still booked in for a new windscreen. I was informed that it was and they would be in touch to confirm the ETA. The team kept me informed over the weekend, the technician called and updated me again on the day, and arrived when he said he would. The screen was changed efficiently and the technician was polite and helpful. I would use the company again and recommend UK car glass to others.

What to expect during your Mini Cooper windscreen replacement

Your MINI Cooper windscreen replacement follows a simple four-stage process.

  1. 1

Book your quote online using our widget — answer a few questions about your Cooper's year and features, and receive an instant price in under 60 seconds.

  2. 2

Our parts-check team confirm your exact glass specification (including any camera bracket, rain sensor, or solar-control features) and match you with a local technician.

  3. 3

Your fitter arrives at your chosen location — typically your home for mobile fitting — and replaces the windscreen with UK-approved glass matching your factory spec.

  4. 4

If your Cooper has the Active Driving Assistant package, static camera calibration is completed on the day using specialist equipment; this may require a workshop location.

  5. 5

Your fitter confirms the drive-away time before leaving, and your two-year warranty begins immediately.

All bookings come with a two-year warranty covering workmanship and glass quality.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your Cooper?

Most MINI Cooper windscreen replacements can be fitted at your home as a mobile service. However, if your Cooper is equipped with the Active Driving Assistant package (from 2022 onwards), static camera calibration is required after the glass is fitted.

Calibration requires specialist workshop equipment and cannot be done on a driveway. In these cases, your entire replacement — glass fitting plus calibration — is scheduled at a workshop location to ensure the safety-critical camera system is correctly recalibrated before you drive away.

A camera mounted near the rear-view mirror monitors the road ahead for lane-keep and traffic-sign features.

    What it means

A forward-facing camera positioned in the windscreen header area (typically mounted on or near the rear-view mirror bracket) captures video of the road ahead. This camera feeds data to driver-assistance systems such as lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, autonomous emergency braking, and traffic-sign recognition. The camera is a core component of modern ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) and requires precise alignment after windscreen replacement to ensure these safety features function correctly.

    How to tell

Look for a small dark triangular or lens-shaped component mounted in the black plastic trim area above the windscreen, typically centred near the rear-view mirror or slightly to one side. Your vehicle's handbook or infotainment menu may reference 'Lane Assist', 'Traffic Sign Recognition', or 'Autonomous Emergency Braking'. Ask your dealer or service centre directly if your car is equipped with a forward-facing camera system.

    Replacement impact

Windscreen replacement on camera-equipped vehicles requires calibration of the camera system after the new glass is fitted. The exact calibration procedure—whether static (using a target board in a controlled environment) or dynamic (road-based)—varies by vehicle make, model, and year. We confirm the precise calibration requirement when we look up your specific vehicle. Calibration ensures lane-keep, sign recognition, and emergency-braking systems function safely. This may extend the fitting schedule and may necessitate workshop-based fitting rather than mobile attendance.

  • Dynamic Camera Calibration Process2
    2014–2026Calibration varies by vehicle

On the Mini Cooper: fitted on 2 of the 14 windscreen variants we list (14%); model years 2014–2026; calibration varies by vehicle.

Dynamic calibration uses road driving to recalibrate your camera after windscreen replacement.

    What it means

Dynamic camera calibration is a procedure in which a technician drives the vehicle on marked roads at set speeds after the windscreen has been fitted and the adhesive has cured. During this drive, the forward-facing camera relearns its reference points — lane markings, road signs, road edges and surrounding traffic patterns — so it can resume accurate operation of camera-dependent safety and driver-assistance systems. This recalibration is necessary because any windscreen replacement, even with precision fitting, can introduce small shifts in the camera's optical alignment relative to the road.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's handbook or contact your dealer to confirm whether your car has a forward-facing camera system. If it does, ask the dealer whether your specific model requires dynamic (road-drive) or static (target-board) calibration after windscreen replacement. You can also ask your fitter — they will establish this when they look up your vehicle's specification.

    Replacement impact

After your windscreen is fitted and the bonding has cured, a technician will drive the vehicle on marked roads at controlled speeds to allow the camera to relearn its environment. This extends the overall job duration beyond the glass-fitting time alone. Depending on your vehicle, calibration may be performed during the same visit or scheduled separately. We confirm the exact procedure and location (mobile or workshop) when we look up your specific vehicle.

  • Sensor Heated Zone2
    2014–2026Calibration varies by vehicle

On the Mini Cooper: fitted on 2 of the 14 windscreen variants we list (14%); model years 2014–2026; calibration varies by vehicle.

Heated zones around sensors prevent frost and moisture buildup, helping your safety systems work reliably.

    What it means

A sensor heated zone is an electrical heating element integrated into or around camera, radar, or sensor mounts on the windscreen. Its purpose is to prevent frost, ice, condensation, and moisture accumulation on sensor lenses and housings. This keeps safety systems — such as lane-keeping assist, collision warning, and adaptive cruise control — functioning accurately in cold, wet, or foggy conditions. Without this heating, moisture or ice can obscure sensors and cause them to malfunction or deactivate.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's handbook for mention of 'heated sensor zone' or 'sensor heating' in the windscreen or ADAS section. Look at the top edge of your windscreen where cameras or radar modules are mounted — you may see small heating elements or wiring near these components. Ask your dealership or service centre directly: they can confirm whether your specific model includes sensor heating as standard.

    Replacement impact

Windscreens with heated sensor zones require careful handling during replacement to preserve the heating element and its electrical connections. The heating circuit must be reconnected properly after the new glass is fitted. Depending on the vehicle, this may involve static or dynamic camera calibration after installation. We confirm the exact procedure — including any calibration needs — when we look up your vehicle details.

  • Green Sun Strip1
    2000–2007

On the Mini Cooper: fitted on 1 of the 14 windscreen variants we list (7%); model years 2000–2007.

A green-tinted band at the windscreen's top edge that reduces glare from sunlight above.

    What it means

A green sun strip is a graduated tint band integrated into the windscreen's laminate at the upper edge. It filters intense sunlight and glare from above — particularly useful on motorways and in bright conditions — whilst maintaining clarity through the main viewing area below. The tint is permanent, fused into the laminate layer during manufacture, and cannot be applied or removed afterwards. Sun strips are a windscreen-only feature because they must be built into the laminate during production; side and rear glass cannot carry them as they are typically toughened rather than laminated.

    How to tell

Look at the top edge of your windscreen from the inside. A sun strip appears as a distinct green-tinted gradient band that fades from darker at the very top to clear below. It is visible whether the car is parked or moving. You can also check your vehicle's specification sheet or ask your dealership or current service centre to confirm whether your windscreen includes a sun strip.

    Replacement impact

The replacement windscreen must be the green sun strip variant to match your original. This is not a post-fit addition; it must be ordered as part of the glass itself. Availability is usually straightforward for current and recent models from major manufacturers, though older or less common variants may require a longer lead time. The sun strip does not affect calibration requirements or cure time — it is simply a laminate feature and does not complicate the fitting process.

About the Mini Cooper

The MINI Cooper has evolved through several generations since 2000, from the original BMW-era revival through to the latest platform iterations. Early models carry straightforward laminated windscreens with a VIN notch, while from the mid-2010s onwards, rain sensors and solar-control glass became increasingly common across the range.

From around 2022, MINI introduced the Active Driving Assistant package as an option, bringing a forward-facing camera system to the windscreen. This camera enables lane departure warning, frontal collision warning, and adaptive cruise control — all of which require precise calibration after windscreen replacement. From the 2024 generation onwards, these assistance systems are described as standard across new MINI models.
