Very happy with UK car glass

Very happy with UK car glass. They offered the lowest quote and an online booking service. After an initial confirmation email, I heard nothing further for a week, so I called to check that my car was still booked in for a new windscreen. I was informed that it was and they would be in touch to confirm the ETA. The team kept me informed over the weekend, the technician called and updated me again on the day, and arrived when he said he would. The screen was changed efficiently and the technician was polite and helpful. I would use the company again and recommend UK car glass to others.

Up/Down Door Glass Replacement

Booked the job online Wednesday morning (process was easy), booked in, glass sourced and completed at my home address Friday morning (at a very competitive rate) - Great service! Note: UKCG subcontract your work out to local businesses. So go and give your local fitter a review aswell

What to expect during your Mazda CX-3 windscreen replacement

Booking a CX-3 windscreen replacement takes just minutes and follows a simple, transparent process from quote to fitting day.

  1. 1

Get an instant quote through our online widget — answer a few quick questions about your car (make, model, year, trim features) and receive a price estimate in under 60 seconds.

  2. 2

Complete your booking online with your preferred date and location — we'll schedule you with a specialist fitter in your area who has availability.

  3. 3

Our parts-check team confirms your exact glass specification — acoustic laminate, green tint, camera bracket fitment — so the right glass is on the van on the day.

  4. 4

On fitting day, your fitter arrives with the matched glass and completes the replacement, typically within a couple of hours. If your CX-3 has a camera, static calibration is carried out at a workshop location as part of the same appointment.

  5. 5

Drive away once your fitter confirms the adhesive cure time — usually the same day. Your replacement is covered by our two-year warranty on workmanship and glass quality.

Trusted by thousands of UK drivers and backed by Trustpilot reviews, the process is straightforward, transparent, and handled by vetted local specialists.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your CX-3?

Most CX-3 windscreen replacements can be fitted at your home or workplace via mobile appointment — your fitter brings everything needed and you can drive away the same day. However, if your CX-3 is equipped with i-ACTIVSENSE and a forward camera (typically from 2019 onwards), the static calibration step must be carried out at a workshop with proper diagnostic equipment and target boards. Under UKCG's no-split booking policy, the entire job — glass replacement plus calibration — is scheduled at a workshop location so you have a single appointment and calibration is guaranteed to complete.

We confirm the specific answer for your vehicle when you book.

  • Acoustic (Noise reduction)3
    2015–2026

On the Mazda CX-3: fitted on every one of the 3 windscreen variants we list; model years 2015–2026.

    What it means

A multi-layer laminated windscreen with sound-dampening interlayers that reduce road, wind, and engine noise inside the cabin.

    On your Mazda CX-3

Standard on all CX-3 variants in our catalogue from 2015 onwards — you'll see 'Acoustic' or 'SoundScreen' printed in one corner of the windscreen, or confirmed during your quote.

  • Green3
    2015–2026

On the Mazda CX-3: fitted on every one of the 3 windscreen variants we list; model years 2015–2026.

    What it means

A subtle green tint throughout the glass that cuts glare and UV heat without significantly darkening your view — standard on almost all modern Mazda windscreens.

    On your Mazda CX-3

Present on all nine CX-3 variants. The tint is faint but will be verified during our parts check, ensuring your replacement matches the original exactly.

  • Vin Notch3
    2015–2026

On the Mazda CX-3: fitted on every one of the 3 windscreen variants we list; model years 2015–2026.

    What it means

A small printed box at the base of the windscreen containing your vehicle's VIN (chassis number) for identification and compliance purposes.

    On your Mazda CX-3

Found on the lower edge of every CX-3 windscreen in our range — confirmed as standard across all variants and years.

  • Antenna2
    2015–2026

On the Mazda CX-3: fitted on 2 of the 3 windscreen variants we list (67%); model years 2015–2026.

An aerial laminated into the windscreen or rear window restores radio, DAB or TV reception without a roof-mounted mast.

    What it means

An antenna is a conductive print laminated into the glass during manufacture, typically used for radio, DAB (digital audio broadcasting) or television reception. It replaces the traditional roof-mounted aerial mast found on older vehicles. The antenna is integrated into the glass interlayer and connected to the vehicle's receiver unit via a connector embedded in the glass edge. This design offers a cleaner aesthetic, reduces wind noise, and eliminates the vulnerability of a protruding mast to damage or theft.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's roof — if there is no visible aerial mast, your car likely has a laminated antenna. You can also ask your dealer or service centre whether your windscreen or rear window carries an antenna print. The connector may be visible on the glass edge or inside the door frame trim.

    Replacement impact

When replacing glass with a laminated antenna, the replacement must carry the matching antenna print and connector to restore reception immediately on fitting. Aftermarket or original-equipment glass with the correct antenna specification is essential; a plain replacement will leave you without radio or DAB signal. Our fitters verify the antenna specification during booking and source the correct variant before the appointment.

  • Bracket For Safety Features2
    2015–2021Calibration varies by vehicle

On the Mazda CX-3: fitted on 2 of the 3 windscreen variants we list (67%); model years 2015–2021; calibration varies by vehicle.

    What it means

A moulded trim shroud that sits above the camera and sensor cluster at the top of the windscreen, around the rear-view mirror. On replacement, it's typically transferred from your old glass to the new one.

    On your Mazda CX-3

Standard on camera-equipped CX-3 variants from around 2019 onwards. Confirmed during your parts check so it's transferred or supplied with your replacement glass.

  • LIDAR2
    2015–2021Bespoke calibration

On the Mazda CX-3: fitted on 2 of the 3 windscreen variants we list (67%); model years 2015–2021; bespoke calibration.

LIDAR helps your car sense its surroundings for advanced safety and driver-assistance features.

    What it means

LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) is a sensor technology that uses laser beams to detect objects, obstacles, and road features in three dimensions. It creates a detailed map of the vehicle's surroundings in real time, enabling advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) such as adaptive cruise control, collision avoidance, and autonomous emergency braking. LIDAR complements camera and radar systems by providing precise distance and depth information, even in poor visibility or low-light conditions. It is increasingly fitted to modern vehicles as part of their safety and autonomous-capability infrastructure.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's handbook or contact your dealership to confirm LIDAR fitment. LIDAR sensors are typically mounted on the roof, bumpers, or within the windscreen/rear-window frame area. You may see reference to 'LIDAR', 'laser radar', or specific safety-feature names (e.g. 'adaptive cruise control', 'autonomous emergency braking') that rely on LIDAR in your documentation.

    Replacement impact

If your windscreen or rear window houses or frames a LIDAR sensor, replacement requires careful handling to preserve or recalibrate the sensor post-fit. LIDAR calibration procedures vary significantly by vehicle make, model, and year—some require static alignment using specialist target equipment, others demand dynamic road-drive procedures, and some use a combination. We identify the exact calibration requirement when we look up your specific vehicle and confirm it with you before booking.

  • Light Sensor2
    2015–2021

On the Mazda CX-3: fitted on 2 of the 3 windscreen variants we list (67%); model years 2015–2021.

Light sensors automatically turn your headlights on at dusk or in tunnels; the replacement windscreen must include the sensor bracket.

    What it means

A light sensor is a small optical detector mounted on the windscreen or dashboard that monitors ambient light levels. When light drops below a threshold—at dusk or when entering a tunnel—it triggers your headlights to switch on automatically. This removes the need to manually operate the lights and improves safety by ensuring visibility when conditions darken suddenly. The sensor is typically mounted behind the windscreen's top edge or integrated into the interior mirror housing, where it has an unobstructed view of the sky.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's handbook or ask your dealer whether your car has automatic headlight control or 'auto lights' as a feature. If equipped, you'll see a symbol on the stalk or dashboard dial marked with a light-bulb icon or 'AUTO' setting. When you select this mode and the ambient light dims, the headlights activate without manual input. Not all cars have this feature; it's typically found on newer or higher-specification models.

    Replacement impact

When replacing a windscreen on a vehicle with a light sensor, the replacement glass must include the correct sensor bracket or mounting point to preserve the auto-headlight function. The sensor itself does not require software calibration—it relies on physical positioning behind the windscreen's upper trim or within the mirror assembly. Ensuring the bracket is correctly installed during the fit is essential; if omitted, the auto-light feature will fail and cannot be restored without additional parts and labour.

  • Mono Camera2
    2015–2021Calibration varies by vehicle

On the Mazda CX-3: fitted on 2 of the 3 windscreen variants we list (67%); model years 2015–2021; calibration varies by vehicle.

    What it means

A single forward-facing camera integrated behind the windscreen, part of Mazda's i-ACTIVSENSE suite for lane keeping, collision avoidance, and traffic sign recognition.

    On your Mazda CX-3

Fitted to later CX-3 variants, typically from 2019 onwards when higher trim levels began including i-ACTIVSENSE. Confirmed during your online quote.

  • Rain Sensor2
    2015–2021No calibration after replacement

On the Mazda CX-3: fitted on 2 of the 3 windscreen variants we list (67%); model years 2015–2021; no calibration after replacement.

    What it means

An optical sensor embedded in the windscreen that automatically activates your wipers when it detects moisture — part of the premium convenience package on some CX-3 trims.

    On your Mazda CX-3

Present on higher-specification variants with i-ACTIVSENSE; confirmed during the quote process so your replacement glass is sourced with the sensor fitted.

  • Static Camera Calibration Process2
    2015–2021Static calibration required

On the Mazda CX-3: fitted on 2 of the 3 windscreen variants we list (67%); model years 2015–2021; static calibration required.

    What it means

After windscreen replacement, the forward camera must be precisely realigned indoors using printed target boards — a workshop procedure that takes place on the same booking day.

    On your Mazda CX-3

Required on CX-3 variants equipped with the forward camera and i-ACTIVSENSE. Your fitter will schedule this at a workshop location; it runs in parallel with adhesive cure, so it doesn't extend your drive-away time.

  • Heated Windscreen1
    2015–2021

On the Mazda CX-3: fitted on 1 of the 3 windscreen variants we list (33%); model years 2015–2021.

Heated windscreens use embedded wires to quickly clear ice and condensation in cold weather.

    What it means

A heated windscreen is integrated with a fine mesh of electrical wires embedded within the glass itself. When activated, these wires generate heat to warm the windscreen surface, helping to rapidly clear frost, ice, and condensation during cold or damp conditions. This feature improves visibility and safety in winter driving and reduces reliance on engine heat and demister air, which can be slower on very cold mornings.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's handbook or contact your dealership service centre — they can confirm whether your model includes this feature. Look for a dashboard symbol (usually a windscreen icon with heat waves) when you activate the function, or check your infotainment settings for a heating or climate option linked to the windscreen. Some vehicles have a dedicated button on the stalk or console.

    Replacement impact

Heated windscreens require replacement glass to be of the correct heated specification — standard unheated glass cannot be fitted. The replacement glass must be sourced to match your vehicle's exact heated-wire configuration. Installation is straightforward, though the technician will confirm the heating element is functioning correctly after fitting. No calibration is required for this feature.

  • Solar Control1
    2015–2021

On the Mazda CX-3: fitted on 1 of the 3 windscreen variants we list (33%); model years 2015–2021.

Solar control glass absorbs infrared rays to reduce heat and improve cabin comfort.

    What it means

Solar control is a coating applied to the windscreen that absorbs the sun's infrared radiation rather than allowing it to pass through into the cabin. This reduces solar heat gain, helping to keep the interior cooler and more comfortable, particularly in warm weather or direct sunlight. The coating is transparent to visible light, so it doesn't darken the windscreen or affect visibility. It's a passive thermal management feature that works continuously whenever the sun is shining on the glass.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's specification sheet or contact your dealership service centre to confirm whether solar control glass is fitted. Some manufacturers list it as 'solar control windscreen', 'heat-reflective glass', or 'thermal management glass'. It's a factory-fitted feature and won't be visibly obvious from outside the car — the coating is integral to the glass itself.

    Replacement impact

Solar control glass is a factory-fitted specification. When replacing the windscreen, a solar control variant must be sourced to match the original. This is a standard glass type with no special fitting implications or calibration requirements. Cure and drive-away times follow normal windscreen bonding procedures. Confirm with your fitter that the replacement glass includes solar control to maintain the original thermal performance.

About the Mazda CX-3

The Mazda CX-3 compact crossover has been in continuous production since 2015, maintaining a single generation through to 2021 with consistent windscreen design across all trim levels. Every CX-3 in our catalogue features an acoustic laminated windscreen paired with green-tinted glass, reducing road and wind noise whilst providing heat rejection.

From around 2019 onwards, higher-specification variants began receiving Mazda's i-ACTIVSENSE driver-assistance suite, which includes a front-facing windscreen camera for lane departure warning, lane keep assist, and forward collision mitigation. These camera-equipped models require static calibration after windscreen replacement to restore safety-critical alignment.
