The Jeep Cherokee has evolved significantly across its four decades in production, from the original compact utility vehicle launched in 1986 through to the modern-era models sold today. Each generation brought refinements to glass spec, with early models featuring straightforward laminated windscreens and later variants introducing tinted, solar-control, and acoustic options.
From the 2014 model year onwards, Cherokee windscreens began incorporating advanced features like rain sensors, acoustic laminate for cabin noise reduction, and solar-control coatings on select trims. More recent Cherokee models equipped with Jeep's Active Driving Assist system use a forward-facing camera mounted to the windscreen, requiring static calibration after replacement to restore lane-keeping and vehicle-detection functions.
