The DAF 85 is a heavy commercial vehicle (lorry) produced from 1992 to 2012, serving decades of UK haulage and logistics operations. Windscreen specifications evolved across this 20-year production run, with earlier models carrying straightforward laminated glass and later variants introducing enhanced safety features.
From the early 2000s onwards, many DAF 85 units began receiving tinted windscreens — either clear or green tints — to reduce glare and heat ingress in the cab. Some higher-specification models also feature a green sun strip at the top of the windscreen, which is built into the laminate itself and must be matched exactly during replacement.
Newer New Generation DAF trucks include advanced ADAS systems and windscreen-mounted camera brackets, though the 85's production ended before the full suite became standard. Replacement glass is sourced to match your original factory specification, ensuring the correct tint and sun-strip configuration.
