Daewoo Matiz windscreen price, by year

Pricing for Matiz windscreen replacement is straightforward because the model's long production span and consistent specification mean fewer variations in glass complexity. What does affect cost is whether the variant includes optional features like heated glass or acoustic interlayer — less common on this economy model, but worth confirming during your quote.

Year Price range Quote
2015 £275 £275 Price my 2015
2014 £275 £275 Price my 2014
2013 £275 £275 Price my 2013
2012 £275 £275 Price my 2012
2011 £275 £275 Price my 2011
2010 £275 £275 Price my 2010
2009 £275 £275 Price my 2009

The displayed range is an indicator — the final price is produced by the quote form after you confirm your variant. Older Matizs can still be booked.

Booking on line took order and confirmed the window screen replacement for this Tuesday, arranged to travel and take time from work only to get an email today to say can not be done until next week. Terrible service (or lack of service)

Misleading pricing practice

I submitted the details of my vehicle including license plate (from which they can get the VIN) and was given a quote for a replacement windscreen with calibration and home installation. It was a good price compared to competitors and the technician would have been able to repair at home. I accepted the quote and made payment for £889.11, and waited for the confirmation of date and time of installment. 18 hours later I received a call saying that a technician would be able to come out tomorrow to install, however the price quoted was incorrect and in fact it would be £200 more expensive as they got the windscreen part number wrong. Very annoying and potentially misleading pricing practice. I told them to recredit my card and that I would look elsewhere

What to expect during your Daewoo Matiz windscreen replacement

Booking your Matiz windscreen replacement through UK Car Glass is a simple, guided process.

  1. 1

Complete a quick online quote by answering a few questions about your car — takes about a minute.

  2. 2

We'll match you with an approved fitter in your area and confirm availability.

  3. 3

Our team runs a parts check to verify your exact glass specification — sun strip, tint, and any extras — before the technician arrives.

  4. 4

Your fitter arrives at your home or workplace (or a workshop if you prefer) and replaces the windscreen, typically within 45–90 minutes of active work.

  5. 5

You'll receive a two-year warranty covering workmanship and glass quality, and your fitter will confirm when it's safe to drive away.

From quote to booked appointment, the whole process takes under two minutes online.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your Matiz?

The Daewoo Matiz does not feature factory-installed front-camera ADAS systems, so your replacement windscreen doesn't require calibration work. This means mobile fitting at your home or workplace is the standard approach — quick, convenient, and no need for workshop facilities.

We confirm the specific answer for your vehicle when you book.

What features does your Matiz have?

  • Blue Sun Strip2
    1999–2015

A blue-tinted gradient band across the top of your windscreen that reduces glare without affecting your view of the road.

    What it means

A blue sun strip is a tinted gradient band built into the upper edge of your windscreen's laminate layer. It reduces glare from sunlight reflecting off the road and bonnet without darkening your main field of vision. The tint is created during manufacture as part of the glass laminate itself — it cannot be added or removed later. Sun strips are a windscreen-only feature; rear and side windows cannot carry this effect because they use tempered rather than laminated glass.

    How to tell

Look at the top of your windscreen from inside the car — you'll see a distinct blue-tinted band running horizontally across the upper portion. Check your vehicle's specification sheet or ask your dealership service centre whether your windscreen is listed as a 'blue sun strip' or 'tinted sun strip' variant. Your invoice or parts manual will confirm it.

    Replacement impact

When replacing a windscreen with a blue sun strip, the replacement must be the sun-strip variant — a standard plain windscreen will not replicate the tinted band. Your replacement glass is sourced as an exact match to your original specification. There are no additional calibration or cure implications beyond a standard windscreen replacement. Fitting and drive-away times remain unchanged.

  • Green2
    1999–2015

Green tint reduces glare and improves visual comfort by filtering certain light wavelengths.

    What it means

Green tint is a light-filtering coating applied to the glass during manufacture. It absorbs and reduces transmission of certain wavelengths of light, primarily to cut glare from sunlight and reflections. The tint is subtle — often barely visible to the naked eye — but measurably improves visual comfort during prolonged driving, particularly in bright conditions. It's a factory specification chosen by the vehicle manufacturer to balance daylight comfort with interior visibility and aesthetic consistency across all glass in the vehicle.

    How to tell

The easiest way to check is to roll your side window halfway down and hold a piece of white paper behind it. Look carefully for a tint cast — green tint will appear as a subtle green hue compared to clear glass. Your windscreen will have the same tint as your side windows. You can also ask your vehicle's dealership or service centre — they'll have the original specification on file.

    Replacement impact

Green-tinted replacement glass must match the original tint specification to maintain visual consistency across all windows and preserve the vehicle's interior aesthetics. Aftermarket OE-equivalent (OEE) green-tinted glass is widely available, though some vehicles may require original equipment (OEM) dealership glass if the tint specification is proprietary. Tint does not affect calibration, cure time, or installation procedure — it's a cosmetic and functional specification only.

About the Daewoo Matiz

The Daewoo Matiz was produced from 1999 to 2015 as a compact city car, offering straightforward, dependable engineering across its long production run. All Matiz windscreens feature a blue sun strip — a tinted gradient band across the top that reduces glare from above whilst maintaining clear visibility of the road ahead.

Every variant also carries green-tinted glass as standard, a subtle tint that's characteristic of the model. These are factory features built into the laminated windscreen; any replacement must match both the sun strip and the tint to restore the original appearance and performance.
