Chevrolet Trax windscreen price, by year

Price variation depends on your model year and ADAS equipment. Earlier Trax variants without camera systems are typically more straightforward to replace. Newer models equipped with Chevy Safety Assist require static camera recalibration after fitting, which involves additional technician time and workshop-based setup.

5 stars from start to finish

I received an instant quote from UK Car Glass, £200 cheaper than a competitor for a full windscreen replacement. Booked it, technician arrived when he said he would, communication throughout was outstanding and the work done was top notch. I couldn't fault the service I received, 5 stars.

Booking on line took order and confirmed the window screen replacement for this Tuesday, arranged to travel and take time from work only to get an email today to say can not be done until next week. Terrible service (or lack of service)

Misleading pricing practice

I submitted the details of my vehicle including license plate (from which they can get the VIN) and was given a quote for a replacement windscreen with calibration and home installation. It was a good price compared to competitors and the technician would have been able to repair at home. I accepted the quote and made payment for £889.11, and waited for the confirmation of date and time of installment. 18 hours later I received a call saying that a technician would be able to come out tomorrow to install, however the price quoted was incorrect and in fact it would be £200 more expensive as they got the windscreen part number wrong. Very annoying and potentially misleading pricing practice. I told them to recredit my card and that I would look elsewhere

What to expect during your Chevrolet Trax windscreen replacement

Booking your Trax windscreen replacement through UKCG is a straightforward four-step process.

  1. 1

Answer a quick online quiz about your Trax variant — takes under 60 seconds and identifies your exact glass specification, including any camera brackets or ADAS features.

  2. 2

Receive an instant quote and proceed to checkout — your full booking is confirmed in under two minutes with a date and technician match.

  3. 3

Our parts-check team verifies your glass specification and confirms whether your variant requires ADAS recalibration; if so, your appointment is scheduled at a workshop to include calibration in one visit.

  4. 4

On fitting day, the technician replaces your windscreen and, if needed, completes static camera calibration using precision target boards before you drive away.

  5. 5

Your replacement comes with a two-year warranty covering workmanship and glass quality — any concerns are handled directly by UKCG from start to finish.

Throughout the process, you're guided by UKCG's team and matched with a local technician vetted for quality and safety.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your Trax?

Most Trax windscreen replacements can be arranged as a mobile visit to your home or workplace. However, if your variant is equipped with the Chevy Safety Assist camera system, the job requires static ADAS recalibration with precision target boards — this must be done at a workshop.

UKCG schedules both replacement and recalibration in a single workshop visit so you don't have to make two trips. Your technician will confirm whether your specific Trax needs this calibration step during the parts check that follows your online quote.

  • Green1
    2013–2026

Green tint reduces glare and improves visual comfort by filtering certain light wavelengths.

    What it means

Green tint is a light-filtering coating applied to the glass during manufacture. It absorbs and reduces transmission of certain wavelengths of light, primarily to cut glare from sunlight and reflections. The tint is subtle — often barely visible to the naked eye — but measurably improves visual comfort during prolonged driving, particularly in bright conditions. It's a factory specification chosen by the vehicle manufacturer to balance daylight comfort with interior visibility and aesthetic consistency across all glass in the vehicle.

    How to tell

The easiest way to check is to roll your side window halfway down and hold a piece of white paper behind it. Look carefully for a tint cast — green tint will appear as a subtle green hue compared to clear glass. Your windscreen will have the same tint as your side windows. You can also ask your vehicle's dealership or service centre — they'll have the original specification on file.

    Replacement impact

Green-tinted replacement glass must match the original tint specification to maintain visual consistency across all windows and preserve the vehicle's interior aesthetics. Aftermarket OE-equivalent (OEE) green-tinted glass is widely available, though some vehicles may require original equipment (OEM) dealership glass if the tint specification is proprietary. Tint does not affect calibration, cure time, or installation procedure — it's a cosmetic and functional specification only.

  • Solar Control1
    2013–2026

Solar control glass absorbs infrared rays to reduce heat and improve cabin comfort.

    What it means

Solar control is a coating applied to the windscreen that absorbs the sun's infrared radiation rather than allowing it to pass through into the cabin. This reduces solar heat gain, helping to keep the interior cooler and more comfortable, particularly in warm weather or direct sunlight. The coating is transparent to visible light, so it doesn't darken the windscreen or affect visibility. It's a passive thermal management feature that works continuously whenever the sun is shining on the glass.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's specification sheet or contact your dealership service centre to confirm whether solar control glass is fitted. Some manufacturers list it as 'solar control windscreen', 'heat-reflective glass', or 'thermal management glass'. It's a factory-fitted feature and won't be visibly obvious from outside the car — the coating is integral to the glass itself.

    Replacement impact

Solar control glass is a factory-fitted specification. When replacing the windscreen, a solar control variant must be sourced to match the original. This is a standard glass type with no special fitting implications or calibration requirements. Cure and drive-away times follow normal windscreen bonding procedures. Confirm with your fitter that the replacement glass includes solar control to maintain the original thermal performance.

  • Vin Notch1
    2013–2026

A printed VIN reference box along the bottom edge of your windscreen helps identify your vehicle's chassis number at a glance.

    What it means

A VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) notch is a small printed or etched box positioned along the lower edge of the windscreen that displays your vehicle's chassis number. This reference marking is a manufacturing and administrative feature, allowing quick visual identification of the vehicle without needing to consult documents. It's particularly useful for service records, insurance claims, and vehicle registration purposes. The notch itself doesn't affect the structural integrity or safety performance of the glass.

    How to tell

Look along the bottom edge of your windscreen — typically in one of the lower corners — for a small rectangular box containing printed digits or characters. If you're uncertain, check your vehicle's service handbook or ask your dealership or service centre to confirm whether your model includes this feature.

    Replacement impact

When your windscreen is replaced, the new glass will retain the VIN notch printed or etched by the manufacturer. This is a standard feature on replacement windscreens for compatible vehicles and requires no additional work or adjustment. The notch does not affect glass fitting, cure time, or any post-replacement calibration procedures.

About the Chevrolet Trax

The Chevrolet Trax has been in continuous production since 2013, evolving through successive generations as Chevrolet's compact crossover offering. Earlier models carry straightforward laminated windscreens with basic encapsulation, while current variants feature green-tinted glass with solar-control coating to manage cabin heat.

From 2020 onwards, most Chevrolet models including the Trax have incorporated the Chevy Safety Assist suite, which includes forward-facing camera systems for features such as Forward Collision Alert and Automatic Emergency Braking. This means newer variants require ADAS recalibration after windscreen replacement to ensure these safety systems continue to function correctly.
