Renault Modus rear window price, by year

Rear window replacement pricing is consistent across Modus variants, as the model has few trim-level differences in glass specification. The main driver of variation is the solar control coating present on all active variants — a standard feature rather than an option-dependent one.

Year Price range Quote
2012 £562 £562 Price my 2012
2011 £562 £562 Price my 2011
2010 £562 £562 Price my 2010

2007 £380 £380 Price my 2007
2006 £380 £380 Price my 2006

The displayed range is an indicator — the final price is produced by the quote form after you confirm your variant. Older Moduss can still be booked.

Excellent service from first enquiry through to fitting. I was sceptical at first and carried out various checks. All proved positive. 11/10. Highly recommended.

5 stars from start to finish

I received an instant quote from UK Car Glass, £200 cheaper than a competitor for a full windscreen replacement. Booked it, technician arrived when he said he would, communication throughout was outstanding and the work done was top notch. I couldn't fault the service I received, 5 stars.

Booking on line took order and confirmed the window screen replacement for this Tuesday, arranged to travel and take time from work only to get an email today to say can not be done until next week. Terrible service (or lack of service)

Misleading pricing practice

I submitted the details of my vehicle including license plate (from which they can get the VIN) and was given a quote for a replacement windscreen with calibration and home installation. It was a good price compared to competitors and the technician would have been able to repair at home. I accepted the quote and made payment for £889.11, and waited for the confirmation of date and time of installment. 18 hours later I received a call saying that a technician would be able to come out tomorrow to install, however the price quoted was incorrect and in fact it would be £200 more expensive as they got the windscreen part number wrong. Very annoying and potentially misleading pricing practice. I told them to recredit my card and that I would look elsewhere

What to expect during your Renault Modus rear window replacement

Booking your Modus rear window replacement takes just a couple of minutes online, and the fit is typically completed within a few hours.

  1. 1

Use our quick quote tool to confirm your Modus variant — the process takes under 60 seconds.

  2. 2

You'll see the price upfront and can book a time that suits your schedule.

  3. 3

We match you with an approved local fitter who sources glass matching your factory specification.

  4. 4

On the day, your fitter removes the shattered rear window and fits the replacement. The job typically takes 30–60 minutes of their time; shard cleanup is part of this, though small pieces can lodge in places harder to reach during the fit.

  5. 5

We recommend a professional valet or interior clean afterwards for thorough glass-shard detailing.

  6. 6

Your replacement comes with a two-year warranty covering workmanship and glass quality.

Your fitter will confirm the minimum drive-away time before leaving, and you're covered under our standard two-year warranty from the date of replacement.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your Modus?

Rear window replacement on the Modus is almost always carried out mobile — at your home or workplace. The Modus has no front-facing camera system requiring post-fit calibration, so there's no technical reason to book a workshop visit.

Your fitter can work where you are, and there's no minimum drive-away delay tied to bonding chemistry — you're free to drive once the sealant sets, which your fitter will confirm before leaving.

We confirm the specific answer for your vehicle when you book.

  • Green2
    2004–2012

Green tint reduces glare and improves visual comfort by filtering certain light wavelengths.

    What it means

Green tint is a light-filtering coating applied to the glass during manufacture. It absorbs and reduces transmission of certain wavelengths of light, primarily to cut glare from sunlight and reflections. The tint is subtle — often barely visible to the naked eye — but measurably improves visual comfort during prolonged driving, particularly in bright conditions. It's a factory specification chosen by the vehicle manufacturer to balance daylight comfort with interior visibility and aesthetic consistency across all glass in the vehicle.

    How to tell

The easiest way to check is to roll your side window halfway down and hold a piece of white paper behind it. Look carefully for a tint cast — green tint will appear as a subtle green hue compared to clear glass. Your windscreen will have the same tint as your side windows. You can also ask your vehicle's dealership or service centre — they'll have the original specification on file.

    Replacement impact

Green-tinted replacement glass must match the original tint specification to maintain visual consistency across all windows and preserve the vehicle's interior aesthetics. Aftermarket OE-equivalent (OEE) green-tinted glass is widely available, though some vehicles may require original equipment (OEM) dealership glass if the tint specification is proprietary. Tint does not affect calibration, cure time, or installation procedure — it's a cosmetic and functional specification only.

  • Heated Rear Windscreen2
    2004–2012

Heated rear windscreen with integrated wires clears mist and ice when you switch on the demister.

    What it means

A heated rear windscreen contains fine heating wires embedded within the glass. When you activate the rear demister, an electrical current passes through these wires, warming the glass and melting ice or condensation. This feature is particularly useful in cold or damp weather, improving rear visibility quickly. The heating grid is integral to the glass and connected to your vehicle's electrical circuit via connectors at the base of the windscreen.

    How to tell

Look at the rear windscreen from inside the vehicle — you will see a fine grid of horizontal lines across the glass, typically bronze or copper in colour. On the dashboard or steering wheel stalk, there will be a dedicated rear-demist button, usually marked with a windscreen symbol and heating lines. If in doubt, ask your vehicle's service centre or consult your handbook.

    Replacement impact

Replacement rear windscreens with heated grids are widely available as original-equipment aftermarket or dealership parts. The new glass must include the factory heating grid and electrical connectors intact. The technician will reconnect the heating circuit to your vehicle's rear-demist switch. Heated rear windscreens are bonded glass, so adhesive cure time applies; drive-away time will be confirmed by the fitter on the day.

  • Solar Control2
    2004–2012

Solar control glass absorbs infrared rays to reduce heat and improve cabin comfort.

    What it means

Solar control is a coating applied to the windscreen that absorbs the sun's infrared radiation rather than allowing it to pass through into the cabin. This reduces solar heat gain, helping to keep the interior cooler and more comfortable, particularly in warm weather or direct sunlight. The coating is transparent to visible light, so it doesn't darken the windscreen or affect visibility. It's a passive thermal management feature that works continuously whenever the sun is shining on the glass.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's specification sheet or contact your dealership service centre to confirm whether solar control glass is fitted. Some manufacturers list it as 'solar control windscreen', 'heat-reflective glass', or 'thermal management glass'. It's a factory-fitted feature and won't be visibly obvious from outside the car — the coating is integral to the glass itself.

    Replacement impact

Solar control glass is a factory-fitted specification. When replacing the windscreen, a solar control variant must be sourced to match the original. This is a standard glass type with no special fitting implications or calibration requirements. Cure and drive-away times follow normal windscreen bonding procedures. Confirm with your fitter that the replacement glass includes solar control to maintain the original thermal performance.

About the Renault Modus

The Renault Modus was produced from 2004 to 2012 as a compact, flexible family car. Its rear window is straightforward in specification across the production run, with toughened glass as standard.

All Modus variants in our catalogue feature green-tinted glass and solar control technology, which helps reduce cabin heat and UV exposure. These features are consistent across the model range, making replacement straightforward once the variant is confirmed.
