Variation depends on whether your TGE carries a camera system and whether the windscreen includes solar-control coating or acoustic interlaying. Early non-ADAS variants are typically more straightforward, whilst camera-equipped models involve calibration after fitting, reflecting the additional workshop time needed.

What to expect during your MAN TGE windscreen replacement

From quote to fitted glass, here's how the process works.

  1. 1

Get an instant quote using our quick widget — answer a few questions about your TGE's specification and you'll see the cost immediately.

  2. 2

Book your fitting slot at a time that suits you — we match you with an approved technician in your area.

  3. 3

A parts check confirms your exact variant before the job, so the right glass arrives on the day.

  4. 4

Your technician fits the windscreen; if your model has a camera system, static calibration is completed at the workshop to confirm the safety system is working.

  5. 5

Drive away once the fitter confirms the adhesive cure time — typically a few hours depending on the product used.

  6. 6

Two-year warranty covers workmanship and glass quality, backed by our network of specialists.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your TGE?

Most TGE windscreen replacements can be fitted mobile at your depot or roadside location. However, if your model carries a forward-facing camera system, static calibration is required afterwards — this must be completed at a workshop using diagnostic equipment and target boards.

We schedule the entire job (replacement and calibration) at one workshop location to ensure the safety system is properly restored. Your fitter will confirm the minimum drive-away time before you leave.

    What it means

A subtle green tint in the glass reduces glare and eye strain, especially valuable in the commercial cab environment.

    On your MAN TGE

Look carefully at the windscreen edge — a faint green cast is visible when you compare it to clear glass; confirmed during your quote if needed.

On the MAN TGE: fitted on 2 of the 3 windscreen variants we list (67%); model years 2017–2026; calibration varies by vehicle.

    What it means

A trim moulding around the camera and sensor cluster at the top of the windscreen — transferred from your old glass or supplied integrated with the new one.

    On your MAN TGE

Visible as a black plastic shroud around the rear-view mirror area if your TGE has a camera system.

On the MAN TGE: fitted on 2 of the 3 windscreen variants we list (67%); model years 2017–2026.

    What it means

Solar-control coating absorbs the sun's infrared rays, keeping the cab cooler during daytime operation.

    On your MAN TGE

Typically specified on higher-spec TGE variants; confirmed in your parts check before fitting.

  • Vin Notch2
    2017–2026

  • Mono Camera1
    2017–2026Calibration varies by vehicle

On the MAN TGE: fitted on 1 of the 3 windscreen variants we list (33%); model years 2017–2026; calibration varies by vehicle.

A single camera mounted near the rear-view mirror that helps with lane-keeping and collision avoidance.

    What it means

A mono camera is a single-lens camera positioned behind the windscreen, typically in the upper centre area near the rear-view mirror. It captures the road ahead and uses computer vision to detect lane markings, vehicles, and road hazards. The camera feeds data to driver-assistance systems such as lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, and forward-collision warning. It forms the visual foundation of these safety features, allowing the vehicle to monitor road position and surrounding traffic automatically.

    How to tell

Look in the black trim area above the windscreen, centred behind the rear-view mirror — you will see a small triangular lens assembly or dark lens cover. Check your vehicle handbook or ask your dealer's service department to confirm your model has lane-assistance or collision-warning features; vehicles with these systems almost always have a mono camera. Dashboard warning symbols related to lane or collision systems also indicate the presence of this camera.

    Replacement impact

When the windscreen is replaced, the camera bracket and lens assembly must be removed and carefully repositioned on the new glass. The camera may require calibration after fitting to ensure accurate road detection and lane recognition. Calibration needs vary by vehicle — we confirm the exact procedure when we look up your specific vehicle. The job may take longer than a standard windscreen replacement, and workshop facilities may be required if calibration demands a controlled environment.

  • Sensor Heated Zone1
    2017–2026Calibration varies by vehicle

On the MAN TGE: fitted on 1 of the 3 windscreen variants we list (33%); model years 2017–2026; calibration varies by vehicle.

Heated zones around sensors prevent frost and moisture buildup, helping your safety systems work reliably.

    What it means

A sensor heated zone is an electrical heating element integrated into or around camera, radar, or sensor mounts on the windscreen. Its purpose is to prevent frost, ice, condensation, and moisture accumulation on sensor lenses and housings. This keeps safety systems — such as lane-keeping assist, collision warning, and adaptive cruise control — functioning accurately in cold, wet, or foggy conditions. Without this heating, moisture or ice can obscure sensors and cause them to malfunction or deactivate.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's handbook for mention of 'heated sensor zone' or 'sensor heating' in the windscreen or ADAS section. Look at the top edge of your windscreen where cameras or radar modules are mounted — you may see small heating elements or wiring near these components. Ask your dealership or service centre directly: they can confirm whether your specific model includes sensor heating as standard.

    Replacement impact

Windscreens with heated sensor zones require careful handling during replacement to preserve the heating element and its electrical connections. The heating circuit must be reconnected properly after the new glass is fitted. Depending on the vehicle, this may involve static or dynamic camera calibration after installation. We confirm the exact procedure — including any calibration needs — when we look up your vehicle details.

  • Static Camera Calibration Process1
    2017–2026Static calibration required

On the MAN TGE: fitted on 1 of the 3 windscreen variants we list (33%); model years 2017–2026; static calibration required.

    What it means

After windscreen replacement on camera-equipped TGEs, calibration aligns the camera to manufacturer settings so collision alert and other systems function correctly.

    On your MAN TGE

Required on TGE models with forward-facing cameras; your fitter completes this at a workshop as part of the fitted service.

About the MAN TGE

The MAN TGE is a light commercial vehicle built for demanding work. Its windscreen has evolved across the production run from 2017 onwards, with later variants gaining advanced driver assistance features to support safer operation on busier routes.

Two-thirds of TGE models in our network carry forward-facing cameras and rain sensors, paired with green-tinted glass to reduce solar glare in the cab. Some variants also feature solar-control coating to absorb infrared rays and keep the interior cooler during long shifts.

Where a camera is fitted, static calibration is required after windscreen replacement to restore the safety system to manufacturer specification. This is completed at a workshop after the glass is installed.
