Citroen Saxo windscreen price, by year

Price variation depends on which generation and variant your Saxo is, and whether it carries a sun strip. Models with blue sun-strip glass typically cost more than standard variants because the feature is woven into the laminate. Later-model Saxos with tinted glass may have slightly different pricing than early plain-glass versions, but the difference is modest across this era.

Year Price range Quote
2008 £271 £294 Price my 2008
2007 £271 £294 Price my 2007
2006 £271 £294 Price my 2006
2005 £271 £294 Price my 2005
2004 £271 £294 Price my 2004
2003 £271 £331 Price my 2003
2002 £271 £331 Price my 2002

The displayed range is an indicator — the final price is produced by the quote form after you confirm your variant. Older Saxos can still be booked.

What to expect during your Citroen Saxo windscreen replacement

From instant quote to fitted windscreen, the process is straightforward and guided.

  1. 1

Start with a quick online quote via our widget — takes about a minute and identifies your exact Saxo variant.

  2. 2

Once booked, our parts team confirms your glass specification matches your factory-original windscreen, including any sun strip or tint.

  3. 3

We match you with an approved fitter local to you, and you'll receive their contact details to arrange a time that suits.

  4. 4

On the day, the fitter removes the damaged windscreen, clears the frame, and fits your replacement — typically 45–90 minutes of their time.

  5. 5

Your fitter will confirm the minimum drive-away time before they leave; this depends on the adhesive used and ambient conditions.

  6. 6

You're covered by a two-year warranty on workmanship and glass quality from the replacement date.

If any issues arise within two years, contact UKCG and we'll arrange an inspection and remedy.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your Saxo?

The Citroën Saxo was produced before ADAS camera systems became standard, so your replacement is straightforward mobile fitting at your address. Your fitter arrives with the glass, removes the old windscreen, and installs the replacement — no workshop visit needed.

If you prefer a workshop visit for any reason, you can always request one at booking. Mobile fitting is the default and fastest option for most Saxo owners.

We confirm the specific answer for your vehicle when you book.

  • Green2
    1996–2008

Green tint reduces glare and improves visual comfort by filtering certain light wavelengths.

    What it means

Green tint is a light-filtering coating applied to the glass during manufacture. It absorbs and reduces transmission of certain wavelengths of light, primarily to cut glare from sunlight and reflections. The tint is subtle — often barely visible to the naked eye — but measurably improves visual comfort during prolonged driving, particularly in bright conditions. It's a factory specification chosen by the vehicle manufacturer to balance daylight comfort with interior visibility and aesthetic consistency across all glass in the vehicle.

    How to tell

The easiest way to check is to roll your side window halfway down and hold a piece of white paper behind it. Look carefully for a tint cast — green tint will appear as a subtle green hue compared to clear glass. Your windscreen will have the same tint as your side windows. You can also ask your vehicle's dealership or service centre — they'll have the original specification on file.

    Replacement impact

Green-tinted replacement glass must match the original tint specification to maintain visual consistency across all windows and preserve the vehicle's interior aesthetics. Aftermarket OE-equivalent (OEE) green-tinted glass is widely available, though some vehicles may require original equipment (OEM) dealership glass if the tint specification is proprietary. Tint does not affect calibration, cure time, or installation procedure — it's a cosmetic and functional specification only.

  • Blue Sun Strip1
    1996–2008

A blue-tinted gradient band across the top of your windscreen that reduces glare without affecting your view of the road.

    What it means

A blue sun strip is a tinted gradient band built into the upper edge of your windscreen's laminate layer. It reduces glare from sunlight reflecting off the road and bonnet without darkening your main field of vision. The tint is created during manufacture as part of the glass laminate itself — it cannot be added or removed later. Sun strips are a windscreen-only feature; rear and side windows cannot carry this effect because they use tempered rather than laminated glass.

    How to tell

Look at the top of your windscreen from inside the car — you'll see a distinct blue-tinted band running horizontally across the upper portion. Check your vehicle's specification sheet or ask your dealership service centre whether your windscreen is listed as a 'blue sun strip' or 'tinted sun strip' variant. Your invoice or parts manual will confirm it.

    Replacement impact

When replacing a windscreen with a blue sun strip, the replacement must be the sun-strip variant — a standard plain windscreen will not replicate the tinted band. Your replacement glass is sourced as an exact match to your original specification. There are no additional calibration or cure implications beyond a standard windscreen replacement. Fitting and drive-away times remain unchanged.

  • Bronze1
    1991–2003

Bronze tint reduces glare and heat whilst maintaining a warm aesthetic that complements most vehicle interiors.

    What it means

Bronze tint is a coloured coating applied to the windscreen during manufacture to reduce solar heat transmission and glare from sunlight. It's one of several standard tint options (alongside green, grey, and blue) offered by most vehicle makers. The tint doesn't impair visibility but gives the glass a warm, brownish appearance when viewed from outside. Most modern vehicles have some form of windscreen tint as standard—it's rarely a clear, untinted windscreen.

    How to tell

Roll down a side window halfway and hold a white piece of paper behind the glass from outside. If you see a bronze or warm-brown tint in the side window, your windscreen carries the same tint. Alternatively, ask your vehicle's dealer or service centre for the original windscreen specification—they can confirm the tint colour code. Most documentation refers to it as 'bronze' or occasionally 'warm bronze'.

    Replacement impact

When replacing a windscreen with bronze tint, the replacement glass must match the original tint specification exactly. Fitting an untinted or differently tinted windscreen will create a noticeable colour mismatch with the side windows and alter the vehicle's interior light and thermal characteristics. We confirm the exact tint code from your vehicle's records and source an OE-equivalent or OEM glass to preserve the original appearance and performance.

About the Citroen Saxo

The Citroën Saxo was produced from 1991 to 2008 across multiple generations, serving as a practical city car and compact hatchback. Early models carry straightforward laminated windscreens with minimal tinting, while later variants introduced green-tinted glass as standard — a subtle feature that reduces glare without affecting visibility.

Some Saxo variants feature a blue sun strip, a blue-tinted gradient band across the top of the windscreen that cuts glare from above. This feature is built into the glass itself and must be matched exactly at replacement — a standard windscreen will not show the band.
