Land Rover Range Rover Sport rear window price, by year

Pricing varies primarily by generation and the presence of specialised glass features. Older models with standard toughened rear windows are typically the most affordable. Later variants with encapsulated trim, heating elements, or privacy tinting involve more complex sourcing and fitting. Models from the 2015+ era may carry additional hardware brackets, which also influences the overall cost.

Within 2 weeks of having a replacement…

Within 2 weeks of having a replacement windscreen fitted a small chip resulted in a very large crack appearing in the glass. I must question the quality of the glass because over the previous 4 years no such issue occurred. I would note that the reason for using UK Car Glass was the cost, almost 50% cheaper than Land Rover (official glass provider). I would carefully consider whether the quality of the replacement windscreens is sub-standard thus false economy in selecting.

What to expect during your Land Rover Range Rover Sport rear window replacement

Replacing your Range Rover Sport's rear window is a straightforward process handled by specialists on our network.

  1. 1

Use our online widget to answer a few quick questions about your Sport's year and features — your variant is identified in under 60 seconds.

  2. 2

Review the instant quote and book your fitting at a time that suits you, either at your home or a local workshop.

  3. 3

Our parts-check team confirms your exact rear-window specification (tint, trim type, any heating elements) before your appointment.

  4. 4

On fitting day, your specialist removes the shattered rear glass, clears accessible shards, and installs your replacement. This typically takes 30–60 minutes of the fitter's time, depending on the vehicle.

  5. 5

Your fitter will confirm the minimum drive-away time before you leave — usually straightforward, but depends on the adhesive used and weather conditions.

  6. 6

We recommend a professional valet afterwards to thoroughly clean the interior, as small glass shards can lodge in places the fitter can't always reach during the fit.

Your replacement glass carries a two-year warranty on workmanship and glass quality, and you're covered for any issues that arise from the fitting itself.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your Range Rover Sport?

Most Range Rover Sport rear-window replacements are carried out at your home or chosen location by our approved fitters. The job is mobile-friendly because rear-window fitting doesn't involve the safety-critical calibration that windscreen work sometimes requires.

If your vehicle has other damage or specific preferences, you can always opt for a workshop visit instead — the choice is yours at booking.

We confirm the specific answer for your vehicle when you book.

  • Heated Rear Windscreen3
    2005–2026

On the Land Rover Range Rover Sport: fitted on every one of the 3 rear window variants we list; model years 2005–2026.

    What it means

Integrated heating wires in the glass that clear mist and ice when you switch on the defogger. The replacement must include the matching heating grid and connectors so the system continues to work.

On your Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Featured on select Sport models; your quote will highlight if your variant requires a heated rear window.

  • Green1
    2010–2013

On the Land Rover Range Rover Sport: fitted on 1 of the 3 rear window variants we list (33%); model years 2010–2013.

    What it means

A subtle factory tint in the glass (about 90% of all vehicles have it, though owners rarely notice it). The replacement must match this tint so it blends with the windscreen and front side windows.

On your Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Identified during your quote; if your Sport has a green tint, your replacement glass will too.

  • Green Privacy1
    2005–2010

On the Land Rover Range Rover Sport: fitted on 1 of the 3 rear window variants we list (33%); model years 2005–2010.

Dark green tint on rear and side windows is a factory colour choice, not a safety or performance feature.

    What it means

Dark green is a factory tint applied to the glass during manufacture. It's purely aesthetic — a colour variant chosen by the vehicle designer to complement the body paint and interior trim. Unlike some tints that reduce solar heat or glare, dark green is decorative. Most vehicles have standard or light green glass; dark green is less common and typically found on specific trim levels or model years.

    How to tell

Look at your rear and side windows from outside the car in daylight. If they appear noticeably darker or more saturated green than the front windscreen, you likely have dark green glass. You can also check your vehicle's specification sheet from the dealer or original documentation — tint colour is sometimes listed under 'glass' or 'exterior finishes'. If uncertain, ask your local dealership service centre.

    Replacement impact

Dark green replacement glass must match the original tint colour exactly — a standard or light green windscreen will look visibly mismatched against dark green rear windows. Sourcing the correct variant can take slightly longer than standard glass, as it's less common. No calibration is involved with tinted glass itself. Fitting and cure time are unaffected.

  • Grey Privacy1
    2013–2026

On the Land Rover Range Rover Sport: fitted on 1 of the 3 rear window variants we list (33%); model years 2013–2026.

Dark grey tint on rear windows provides privacy and reduces interior heat and glare.

    What it means

Dark grey tint, formally known as privacy glass, is a factory-applied tint created through a deep-dipping process during glass manufacture. The pigment is infused into the inner surface of the glass, darkening the rear windows (and sometimes rear doors) significantly more than the front. This reduces heat transmission, minimises glare, and obscures the interior from outside view. It's standard on the rear half of many modern vehicles.

    How to tell

Compare the rear side windows and rear window (backlight) to the front side windows — the rear glass will be noticeably darker. Check your vehicle documents or ask your dealership service centre if you're unsure whether your car left the factory with privacy glass.

    Replacement impact

Dark grey tinted glass must be sourced from the Original Equipment Equivalent (OEE) or dealership to ensure colour and transmission match your vehicle's existing rear glass. The tint is integral to the glass itself, not a surface coating, so aftermarket non-tinted glass will look visibly mismatched. Replacement does not require any calibration and follows standard bonded-glass cure times for rear windows.

  • Open1
    2010–2013

On the Land Rover Range Rover Sport: fitted on 1 of the 3 rear window variants we list (33%); model years 2010–2013.

An opening pane with hinged hardware, typically on rear quarters or van sides.

    What it means

An opening glass pane is a hinged or pivoting section of bodyglass designed to swing or tilt outward for ventilation or access. Commonly found on rear quarters of estates or vans, and on van side panels. Unlike fixed side windows or windscreens, opening panes are part of the vehicle's passive ventilation system and allow airflow without opening a door or window. The hinge and frame hardware are integral to the feature's function.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's side and rear quarter panels for hinged glass sections that swing outward. Ask your dealer or service centre whether your model includes rear quarter vents or van-side opening panels. Your handbook will list ventilation features. Opening panes are visually distinct from sliding or rolling windows — they pivot on visible hinges rather than moving vertically or horizontally.

    Replacement impact

UKCG handles opening-pane replacement on a bespoke basis — please contact us for a quote rather than using the automated quote tool. Replacement includes the glass pane and matching hinge hardware where supplied. Fitting time is typically brief as there is no adhesive cure or calibration required. The pane is held in place by mechanical hinges and seals, so you can use the vehicle immediately after fitting.

  • Solar Control1
    2010–2013

On the Land Rover Range Rover Sport: fitted on 1 of the 3 rear window variants we list (33%); model years 2010–2013.

    What it means

The glass has a solar-control coating that absorbs the sun's infrared rays, helping keep the cabin cooler.

On your Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Found on select higher-trim Sport variants; confirmed during the parts check for your model.

About the Land Rover Range Rover Sport

The Range Rover Sport has been in production since 2005, evolving through multiple generations with increasingly sophisticated glass technology. Earlier models carry straightforward toughened rear windows, whilst later Sport variants from the early 2010s onwards often feature encapsulated trim (gasket pre-bonded to the glass), green or privacy tinting, and in some cases integrated heating elements.

From around 2015 onwards, the Sport benefited from Land Rover's InControl driver assistance suite, which on some variants includes forward-facing cameras mounted at the windscreen. Rear-window replacement remains straightforward across all generations, though models with heated rear glass require the heating grid and connectors to be matched and correctly wired during fitting.
