You can choose to bring your car into any of our centres nationwide or opt to use our free mobile service, where we come to you! Our mobile service is on offer all year round, and we’ll come to any location on the mainland or one connected to the mainland by bridge. Please note that in the event of rain, we must be able to work on the vehicle undercover, as you cannot install new car glass in wet conditions.
You can phone us on 020 32 907873 or email us at info@ukcarglass.co.uk
If you have insurance that covers glass damage in whole or in part, simply book an appointment with us. We’ll then help you through the process of applying to your insurance company for the cover. If you’re unsure whether or not your car glass is covered by your insurance company, please read through your insurance policy. And If your policy doesn’t cover the damage, we can obviously still help you.
All of our glass comes from the same manufacturers who supply glass to the car factories. Therefore, our glass replacements meet all the original equipment (OE) requirements. The only difference to the glass we use is that it doesn’t bear the stamp of the car brand. So with us you get the same high-quality glass that you would at an authorised car repair shop.
As with windscreens, we come to your location to replace your side window or rear windscreen. That’s right, our mobile service applies to all car glass!
The most common reason for a spreading crack is a change in temperature. If you have any damage to your windscreen, it’s important to get it repaired as soon as possible. Cracks also spread in relation to their position and any jarring or bumping of the car along rough roads. Any pressure on the inside of the windscreen, especially near the damage, will also cause it to spread. Finally, a crack that is contaminated (for instance, one filled with liquid) is also likely to spread. Place a sticker or tape over the damage to keep it dry and clean until you can get it repaired or replaced.
A windscreen cannot have a chip larger than 1 cm in the driver’s line of sight to pass the MOT. A chip or crack larger than 4 cm anywhere on the windscreen will almost certainly result in a failed MOT.
No! That would be unfair. :)
Yes, our technician will alert you 30 minutes before he or she is due to arrive. You’ll also get a phone call the day of the car glass replacement to confirm your time slot.
We need just two things from you: a key (or access) to your car, and a little space around the car in which our technician can move.
When it’s raining or there’s strong wind, we need some cover in order to complete a car glass replacement. If you become ill or need to change your appointment for any other reason, please let us know in good time so that we can reschedule the car glass replacement for you.
We always do a parts check before installing the new glass, but please follow the guidelines int the webform carefully to ensure we come with the correct glass. Please don’t hesitate to call us either if you have a concern you’d like help with.
The quality of our windscreens is set by our supplier. Our supplier manufactures and buys windscreens made by original equipment manufacturers (OEM) but that are used on the aftermarket. What this means is that the windscreens we use are often the same quality as OEM windscreens, they just don’t have the car brand’s logo printed on them.
You’re welcome to bring your car into a UK Car Glass centre, but why not make use of our mobile service at no extra cost? We can come to your home, your office, the beach or the tennis court parking lot – whenever suits you! Just loan us the car key and you keep doing life while we replace your glass for you.
We offer a two-year warranty on all car glass replacements. We also give a warranty on the installation of the car glass. Just let us know if anything has gone wrong and we’ll come out to repair or replace it, pronto
Yes! There are never any hidden or extra charges when you order a glass replacement from UK Car Glass. The quote you receive is what you’ll pay. Note that if there’s a price error on the website, we’ll call to inform you of this and you can then choose to accept the new offer or cancel it, no fee attached.
Car glass has to be completely dry when being replaced. However, this does not mean all hope is lost if it’s raining. Most car glass replacements can take place as long as there’s a covered area where the technician can perform the replacement.
We replace windscreen between 7-17 on work days and after appointment evening and Saturdays Our Technicians we always will call you on the day with a 2 hour time slot. Please find your first available date by choosing your car glass above.
Yes! A windscreen is crucial to the driver's visibility, so the MOT takes the state of your windscreen into consideration. Scratches and other damage to the windscreen can result in a failed MOT. It's important to have any windscreen cracks or chips repaired before your MOT assessment.
We ask for a two-hour slot for your car glass replacement, although it usually doesn’t take us that long. Our technicians will call you on the day of the replacement to confirm your time slot with you. Please fill in the form at the top of the home page to find a date and time that suit you.
If you use our mobile service, we’ll arrive at the address you give us between 8 am and 5 pm. You’ll receive a call 30 minutes before we arrive. Our technicians typically need just an hour (or less) to complete the car glass replacement. Please note that the car must be left stationary for at least 30 minutes after the glass replacement. If you bring the car to a UK Car Glass centre, we should manage to complete the glass replacement that same day. We’ll call you to come and collect the car when it’s ready – at 5 pm latest, but probably before that.
Did you know that 90% of all windscreens have a green colour tone? If your front windscreen has a colour tone, then so do your side windows. The fastest way to check for colour tone is to hold a white piece of paper against a side window. The paper will take a slight green or blue hue if the window has a colour tone.
Of course. You’ll have the option to choose the windscreen replacement you want after responding to the questions on the website. These questions help us to determine if you have anything like special electronics that we’ll need to remove and reinstall when we replace your windscreen.
To book a windscreen replacement with us, please fill in the form on the website and enter your card details. Note, however, that your card will only be charged after we’ve installed your windscreen replacement. Until then, the funds are only temporarily reserved.
