Chrysler PT Cruiser windscreen price, by year

Pricing for PT Cruiser windscreen replacement is straightforward because all variants share consistent glass specifications — encapsulation, green tint, and solar control are fitted across the board. The main variation is whether your specific model carries the blue sun strip. Vehicles with the sun-strip variant require the exact same replacement to maintain that feature, but the underlying replacement cost structure remains simple.

Year Price range Quote
2010 £360 £461 Price my 2010
2009 £360 £461 Price my 2009
2008 £360 £921 Price my 2008
2007 £360 £921 Price my 2007
2006 £360 £921 Price my 2006
2005 £360 £921 Price my 2005
2004 £360 £921 Price my 2004

The displayed range is an indicator — the final price is produced by the quote form after you confirm your variant. Older PT Cruisers can still be booked.

PT Cruiser owner

An ode to UK Car Glass.

Although I choked on the very expensive price, the guy who came was really quite nice. He came on time when I was here, and quickly assembled the necessary gear. He helped me remove all the stuff stuck on my screen, and fitted a new one all nice and clean. I now have a windscreen with no scratches or crack, if it happens again, and I can afford it, I'll ask this firm back.

Excellent

Arrived on time, took a little bit longer to replace the rear window on a corsa hatchback but the work was excellent and all the broken glass was retrieved and disposed of. The guy from UK glass was very thorough and I would recommend this company should you need any car windows/windscreens replacing.

What to expect during your Chrysler PT Cruiser windscreen replacement

Booking your PT Cruiser windscreen replacement through UK Car Glass takes just a few minutes, and the whole process from quote to fitting is designed to fit around your schedule.

  1. 1

Complete an instant online quote via our quick widget — takes about 60 seconds and matches your exact windscreen specification.

  2. 2

Our parts team verifies your glass variant during the booking confirmation, confirming whether your replacement includes the blue sun strip if applicable.

  3. 3

You're matched with an approved fitter in your area; most jobs are fitted mobile at your home or workplace.

  4. 4

Your fitter arrives with your encapsulated windscreen ready to install — the rubber gasket is already bonded to the glass, so it's fitted as one complete unit.

  5. 5

The fitting typically takes 45–90 minutes of the fitter's time depending on your vehicle, and they'll confirm your minimum drive-away time before leaving.

  6. 6

You're covered by a two-year warranty on workmanship and glass quality, with full support from UKCG if any issues arise.

Trust is built into every booking — our network of approved fitters is matched to you based on your location and the job, with Trustpilot reviews backing every technician's track record.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your PT Cruiser?

The vast majority of PT Cruiser windscreen replacements are carried out mobile at your home or workplace — no camera calibration is required on these older models, so the fitting is straightforward. Your approved fitter will bring the encapsulated windscreen ready to install and complete the job without needing workshop facilities.

If weather conditions are poor or your location makes mobile access difficult, workshop fitting can be arranged as an alternative. The choice is yours, and our matching process will discuss the best option for your circumstances.

We confirm the specific answer for your vehicle when you book.

  • Green3
    2000–2010

Green tint reduces glare and improves visual comfort by filtering certain light wavelengths.

    What it means

Green tint is a light-filtering coating applied to the glass during manufacture. It absorbs and reduces transmission of certain wavelengths of light, primarily to cut glare from sunlight and reflections. The tint is subtle — often barely visible to the naked eye — but measurably improves visual comfort during prolonged driving, particularly in bright conditions. It's a factory specification chosen by the vehicle manufacturer to balance daylight comfort with interior visibility and aesthetic consistency across all glass in the vehicle.

    How to tell

The easiest way to check is to roll your side window halfway down and hold a piece of white paper behind it. Look carefully for a tint cast — green tint will appear as a subtle green hue compared to clear glass. Your windscreen will have the same tint as your side windows. You can also ask your vehicle's dealership or service centre — they'll have the original specification on file.

    Replacement impact

Green-tinted replacement glass must match the original tint specification to maintain visual consistency across all windows and preserve the vehicle's interior aesthetics. Aftermarket OE-equivalent (OEE) green-tinted glass is widely available, though some vehicles may require original equipment (OEM) dealership glass if the tint specification is proprietary. Tint does not affect calibration, cure time, or installation procedure — it's a cosmetic and functional specification only.

  • Solar Control3
    2000–2010

Solar control glass absorbs infrared rays to reduce heat and improve cabin comfort.

    What it means

Solar control is a coating applied to the windscreen that absorbs the sun's infrared radiation rather than allowing it to pass through into the cabin. This reduces solar heat gain, helping to keep the interior cooler and more comfortable, particularly in warm weather or direct sunlight. The coating is transparent to visible light, so it doesn't darken the windscreen or affect visibility. It's a passive thermal management feature that works continuously whenever the sun is shining on the glass.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's specification sheet or contact your dealership service centre to confirm whether solar control glass is fitted. Some manufacturers list it as 'solar control windscreen', 'heat-reflective glass', or 'thermal management glass'. It's a factory-fitted feature and won't be visibly obvious from outside the car — the coating is integral to the glass itself.

    Replacement impact

Solar control glass is a factory-fitted specification. When replacing the windscreen, a solar control variant must be sourced to match the original. This is a standard glass type with no special fitting implications or calibration requirements. Cure and drive-away times follow normal windscreen bonding procedures. Confirm with your fitter that the replacement glass includes solar control to maintain the original thermal performance.

  • Blue Sun Strip1
    2000–2010

A blue-tinted gradient band across the top of your windscreen that reduces glare without affecting your view of the road.

    What it means

A blue sun strip is a tinted gradient band built into the upper edge of your windscreen's laminate layer. It reduces glare from sunlight reflecting off the road and bonnet without darkening your main field of vision. The tint is created during manufacture as part of the glass laminate itself — it cannot be added or removed later. Sun strips are a windscreen-only feature; rear and side windows cannot carry this effect because they use tempered rather than laminated glass.

    How to tell

Look at the top of your windscreen from inside the car — you'll see a distinct blue-tinted band running horizontally across the upper portion. Check your vehicle's specification sheet or ask your dealership service centre whether your windscreen is listed as a 'blue sun strip' or 'tinted sun strip' variant. Your invoice or parts manual will confirm it.

    Replacement impact

When replacing a windscreen with a blue sun strip, the replacement must be the sun-strip variant — a standard plain windscreen will not replicate the tinted band. Your replacement glass is sourced as an exact match to your original specification. There are no additional calibration or cure implications beyond a standard windscreen replacement. Fitting and drive-away times remain unchanged.

About the Chrysler PT Cruiser

The Chrysler PT Cruiser was produced from 2000 to 2010 across a single generation, carving out a distinctive niche with its retro-modern styling and practical interior space. All PT Cruisers in our catalogue carry encapsulated windscreens — a pre-fitted rubber gasket bonded to the glass edges at the factory — meaning your replacement arrives as a complete panel-plus-trim unit.

The PT Cruiser windscreen is uniformly tinted green across all variants, a subtle hue typical of modern automotive glass designed to reduce glare and UV penetration. Solar-control coating is standard across the range, absorbing infrared rays to help keep the cabin cooler during sunny conditions.

One-third of PT Cruisers in our network carry an additional blue sun strip — a blue-tinted gradient band running across the top of the windscreen to further reduce glare from above without impairing your main field of view. Older Chrysler models like the PT Cruiser did not require windscreen camera calibration, simplifying the replacement process considerably.
