By the late 1990s, it was clear that the Honda Prelude needed a significant update to remain competitive in the marketplace. However, rather than investing in a complete redesign, Honda decided to discontinue the Prelude altogether.
The last model year for the Prelude was 2000, and production ended in early 2001. While the decision to discontinue the Prelude may have seemed like a bold move at the time.
