You can choose to bring your car into any of our centres nationwide or opt to use our free mobile service, where we come to you! Our mobile service is on offer all year round, and we’ll come to any location on the mainland or one connected to the mainland by bridge. Please note that in the event of rain, we must be able to work on the vehicle undercover, as you cannot install new car glass in wet conditions.
If you use our mobile service, we’ll arrive at the address you give us between 8 am and 5 pm. You’ll receive a call 30 minutes before we arrive.
Our technicians typically need just an hour (or less) to complete the car glass replacement. Please note that the car must be left stationary for at least 30 minutes after the glass replacement. If you bring the car to a UK Car Glass centre, we should manage to complete the glass replacement that same day.
We’ll call you to come and collect the car when it’s ready – at 5 pm latest, but probably before that.
All of our glass comes from the same manufacturers who supply glass to the car factories. Therefore, our glass replacements meet all the original equipment (OE) requirements. The only difference to the glass we use is that it doesn’t bear the stamp of the car brand. So with us you get the same high-quality glass that you would at an authorised car repair shop.
The most common reason for a spreading crack is a change in temperature.
If you have any damage to your windscreen, it’s important to get it repaired as soon as possible. Cracks also spread in relation to their position and any jarring or bumping of the car along rough roads.
Any pressure on the inside of the windscreen, especially near the damage, will also cause it to spread. Finally, a crack that is contaminated (for instance, one filled with liquid) is also likely to spread.
Place a sticker or tape over the damage to keep it dry and clean until you can get it repaired or replaced.
A windscreen cannot have a chip larger than 1 cm in the driver’s line of sight to pass the MOT. A chip or crack larger than 4 cm anywhere on the windscreen will almost certainly result in a failed MOT.

When it’s raining or there’s strong wind, we need some cover in order to complete a car glass replacement. If you become ill or need to change your appointment for any other reason, please let us know in good time so that we can reschedule the car glass replacement for you.
We always do a parts check before installing the new glass, but please follow the guidelines int the webform carefully to ensure we come with the correct glass. Please don’t hesitate to call us either if you have a concern you’d like help with.
Only in very rare cases would we ask you to waste time to come to us. Driving back and forth to a workshop is not exactly something anyone enjoys. We will like to end this for you. At UK car glass we respect your time and believe you should spend it on things you enjoy.
That is why we will make sure to come to your preferred location when replacing your new windscreen. We make sure to refit all your standard equipment such as the rearview mirror into your new windscreen. Easy and Simple way to save time and money when it is time to replace the windscreen.
The quality of our windscreens is set by our supplier. Our supplier manufactures and buys windscreens made by original equipment manufacturers (OEM) but that are used on the aftermarket. What this means is that the windscreens we use are often the same quality as OEM windscreens, they just don’t have the car brand’s logo printed on them.

Yes! A windscreen is crucial to the driver's visibility, so the MOT takes the state of your windscreen into consideration. Scratches and other damage to the windscreen can result in a failed MOT. It's important to have any windscreen cracks or chips repaired before your MOT assessment.
We ask for a two-hour slot for your car glass replacement, although it usually doesn’t take us that long. Our technicians will call you on the day of the replacement to confirm your time slot with you. Please fill in the form at the top of the home page to find a date and time that suit you.
Yes! There are never any hidden or extra charges when you order a glass replacement from UK Car Glass. The quote you receive is what you’ll pay. Note that if there’s a price error on the website, we’ll call to inform you of this and you can then choose to accept the new offer or cancel it, no fee attached.
We have a free of charge cancellation policy until the day before your appointment.
If you choose to cancel for any reason beside any error we may have made then we charge a £68 cancellation fee as we would already have done your parts check, ordered the glass and had a technician pick it up from a supplier.
